Beyond baseball

CHS Field will be used for more than just baseball. In fact, the ballpark may host more than 100 non-baseball-related events throughout the year. These community events would be opportunities to continue to bring people to Lowertown and energize the neighborhood.

The ballpark could host events ranging from community activities to conventions to events that support other complimentary festivals in Mears Park, like Concrete and Grass, Music in Mears, and the Jazz Festival. In the wintertime, the ballpark could partner with the Saint Paul Winter Carnival to extend the reach of the festival from Rice Park to Lowertown.

Other potential ideas include:

  • Outdoor concerts
  • Movie nights
  • Dog shows
  • Walk/runs supporting causes
  • Easter egg hunts
  • Food and/or drink festivals
  • Extension of the Farmer’s Market during busy weekends
  • Summer camps
  • Performance arts

Join the discussion and let us know what type of non-baseball events you would like to see at the CHS Field on Open Saint Paul.
